Obituary

Billie Darlene Stanger, Aged 82. Longtime resident of Chubbuck, Idaho; passed away on the evening of April 9th, 2023; in her home, from natural causes; surrounded by her loving family.

Billie was born on August 15, 1940, in Pocatello, Idaho, to parents William and Pearl, as the 6th of their 7 children.

One of Billie’s biggest achievements, making her father and other family very proud, was graduating from Pocatello High School in 1958. Prior to her graduation, on February 28th, 1958; Billie married Richards “Dick” Marion Stanger at Manning Chapel, now known as Manning Wheatley Funeral Home. They had 4 children: John Darwin, Beverly Ann, Evelyn Darlene, and Edward Arnold. They had several grandchildren and great grandchildren; with most of which Billie had a very close relationship.

Billie worked most of her life and felt very accomplished by helping manage her husband's small business Stanger Excavation. Later in life, Billie worked at Shopko full time, for 20 years. However, Billie was most passionate about her family. She was very close with her daughter Beverly’s children; Andy, Danny, and Kimmi. Her grandchildren grew up and got married; and when the great grandchildren came along Billie made the decision to begin her retirement in order to care for her great grandchildren: Richard Emmet, Robert Leon, Mckayla “Skylar” Darlene; then many years later, with some help from other family members, Riker William; while her adult grandchildren worked. Billie enjoyed spending her days playing with “her kids” and watching them grow.

Because Billie made such an effort to be there for her family over her life, her family returned the favor and made sure to care for Billie as best they could in her final years. As Billie had several health conditions later in life, her family would take shifts during the day to maximize the time they spent with her. Billie was very loved.

Billie is preceded in death by her husband “Dick,” her Mother and father, and 5 of 6 siblings.

Billie is survived by her 4 children, her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
