Darlene Marie Barger

     Our dear mother Darlene Marie Barger sadly passed away peacefully at the age of 84 on July 15th 2022. She was surrounded by family at the time of passing in Pocatello Idaho. She was cherished and loved and will be deeply missed by her family. Mom was born on 03/06/1938 to her parents Marlo and Lapreal Mason. She lived in Kamas Utah and spent most of her childhood there. While she was in school at Kamas high school she worked at the Purple Turtle and then married Robert Byron Barger in 1959 in Elko Nevada.

     Approx. 3 years after marriage she started her family, she had 3 sons. Bruce Barger, Brent Barger and Mark Barger. She moved to Salt Lake City Utah where she raised her children. She worked for Salt Lake cleaners and attended church. She would love to take her family camping and any kind of outings. although she hated driving anywhere, she would be so upset the whole drive no matter where we were going. I remember a time she told me she took the kids camping and she sat on the floor drinking something with alcohol in it to keep her nerves under control.

      She also loved dancing anywhere she could and doing her favorite dance was the jitter bug. She loved playing Bingo I think just about every family member  has taken her and Granny Goose to the bingo place. She would win once in a while, and she thought that was the best thing on earth. She loved her grandkids with all of heart she would do anything for them, and she didn't care what it took.  I know I told my kids no several time and she would go behind my back and give them whatever she wanted. She just wanted them happy. She wanted to make sure they had everything they needed.

    One of her most favorite past times was sitting on her front porch when a storm was coming through. She would sit out there for hours listening to the thunder and the rain. We will miss you mom but at least we know you are in heaven dancing and partying away and hopefully the best reunion of your life.

Survived by Bruce Barger (son) wife Carol Barger, Brent Barger (son) wife Jeannine Barger, Mark Barger (son) wife Mindy Barger. Grandkids Melisa Barger, Kassidy Barger, Andrew Barger, Hayden Barger, Tyler Barger, Devin Barger, Skyler Barger, Jordan Barger, Avery Barger, Lindsey Barger, Several great grandkids. Many Nieces and Nephews, Jerry Mair (brother) wife Nada Mair, Ross Cassidy (brother), Marlene Keel (sister), Ranae Johnson (sister) husband Jim.

    Funeral services will be held in her honor at Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park. (Camp Williams) 17111 1700 w Bluffdale Utah 84065 July 20th 2022 @ 1:00pm for graveside service.
