Lorraine Bergfeld

Lorraine Hofhine Bergfeld, of Pocatello, passed away on May 19, 2023 at her home. She was born on May 25, 1934 in Pocatello, Idaho to Deo and Minnie Bentley Hofhine.

She grew up in the McCammon area on the family farm. She attended elementary and high school in McCammon. Lorraine went on to further her education at Idaho State University (then Idaho State College) and the University of California at Long Beach where she graduated in 1973 with a B.A degree.

Lorraine married William Allen Brumley in 1954 in Los Angeles, California. They had one son, William Dale Brumley. They were later divorced in 1969. She then met James Henry Bergfeld, and they were married on December 14, 1978 in Long Beach, California.

She had a variety of jobs throughout her life from administrative, outside sales, office machines, real estate and insurance in California. In Idaho, she was a secretary, administrative assistant, junior planner, land use planner, and Bannock County. Lorraine decided that it was time to retire in 2001 and to spend time with family and friends.

Lorraine was apart of the League of Women Voters, Pocatello Garden Club, Idaho Planning Association, Portneuf Greenway, and Chamber of Commerce Beautification Committee.

She is survived by her husband, James Bergfeld; son, William Dale Brumley (Oceanside, California); siblings, Dale Hofhine (Gay), Tyhee, Idaho, Gene Hofhine (Carol) Portland, Oregon, Linda Hofhine Gilbert, Orem, Utah, and Vonda Hofhine Flanders, Myrtle Creek, Oregon; sister-in-law, Joann R. Hofhine, Stone, Idaho; 4 stepchildren, Joyce, Connie, David, and Dennis Brumley; 2 stepchildren and their families, Sean (Mindy) Bergfeld (Virginia Beach, Virginia), Erin Bergfeld (Fallbrook, California); 6 grandchildren via Sean and Erin; 1 biological grandson, Christopher Dana Brumley, Oceanside, California.

She was preceded in death by both of her parents, and brother, Ray L. Hofhine.
